This new PRIDE amulet is a full circle moment, since way back at the start of Roots & Crowns, I collaborated with an organization for an amulet celebrating queerness. This is definitely a more experienced, "grown up" version. 

A blessing, a spell, a conjuring wrapped up in the Hebrew word "Nachat," meaning: to have pride, to derive pleasure, to be with a  tranquility of spirit. All this that we deserve to feel for ourselves, and to feel that that the world has for us. 

This amulet necklace contains flowers I’ve been deeply in relationship with for years, but haven’t yet used in an amulet. It feels extra special and potent and magical to include Violet and Lilac here. These and the rest of the plants are here supporting us to express ourselves, trust ourselves, be in connection to the strength of our queer ancestors, fortify us for resilience and liberation with power and safekeeping, give us courage, take pleasure in the present moment and celebrate the vibrant beautiful lives we have. A celebration of identity and a spell for protection. 

Back in July of 2014, I began making these necklaces- a group of herbs along with a piece of birch bark with a word or two of intention, in a vial on a necklace. These were the only products I made at the time, and as my apothecary grew, I had less and less time to make amulets. But a few years ago, I felt it was a great honor to this path to re-release these amulets in an elevated form. These amulets are very, very dear to my heart. They were my first way of offering plant medicine in my own way- along with sharing the power of the language of my heritage. The words of intention are all written by my hand, in Hebrew. Hebrew is an ancient language, and the words are layered with mystical meaning. And in Hebrew, "words" are literally also "things." A reminder that when we say that magic exists in our words, and that words are spells, it's a truth buried in the language. 

Each amulet is handmade with deep intention. Handwritten spells placed together with hand-foraged botanicals. Housed in a glass vial topped with gold plated tops and a nice long 14k gold chain. Comes with a detailed card describing the choice of plants and their properties for this meaningful talisman.
